I love my job
Something I've been working on lately (for my USCJ job):
The left column is from the Cairo Geniza via יוסף היינימן's book: התפילה בתקופת התנאים והאמוראים. It is striking how similar and different that text is, from what we davan every day.
I noticed a few years ago that the text in סדור רס"ג is missing most of the "כי-clauses" that we have in today's rites (both Ashkenazzic and non). When I'm running low on time, I sometimes use the shorter text.
